Even though my English is far from perfect, it sure beats Google translate....so have fun reading my blogs, and feel free to comment

I'm gonna give it a try.....

People sometimes ask me why I’m not slim. Trust me, I do know “all the rules”. I always prepare healthy meals with the right ingredients…

The answer actually is quite simple. I love food. Lots of food. Good food. Preferably combined with a nice glas of wine, or plural. When I speak of olive oil, I don’t mean a drop of healthiness drizzled over my salad, but a nice pool of golden happiness. Preferably in a large quantity with every meal. And yes, off course, it has to be a very good olive oil. Take the one made by my dear friend Simone whom, with his sister Roberta, lives in dazzling Tuscany and produces by far the most beautiful olive oil one can imagine.

This “problem” also arises when it comes to tomatoes. On a food market, as I’m watching the tomato plants, my head just won’t stop spinning 'round. Drooling and licking my lips, I cannot wait for those lovely fruits to be ready to pick. Red, yellow, orange, black you name it. All colours are equally beautiful en burst with flavour. In my mind I am running around in my kitchen preparing yet another nice meal. Followed by eating it, in a very big portion.

I’m just not capable of passing a cow in a meadow without thinking of all the loveliness this lady produces. In spite of lactoses intolerance I love dairy.

And herbes. Oh beautiful, scenting luring herbes. I’m lost! Again!. My head starts spinning and once again I lose myself…

People sometimes ask me about my recipes. How did you prepare this? Well, okay that’s my biggest problem. I hardly ever remember what I did. How much I used of which ingredient. Tough, because it happens more than once that my great love complains that supper was great, but one-off. And that’s why I have started this blog. As a promise to him. Just to try once in a while to cook a certain dish for a second time. Without changes, deviations nor additions. I have to admit a great challenge because the eggplants are smiling at me, and those sweet unions….I’m gonna give it a try…..
